ServSafe Training and Certification Exam

The ServSafe program offered by US Food Safety Corporation in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and other states is a one-day course comprised of ServSafe training followed by the ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification exam.

During the one-day ServSafe training, participants learn about:

  • causes of food borne illness;
  • avoidance of food borne illness through the flow of food;
  • examples of real-life situations;
  • food allergen information;
  • seven principles of HACCP;
  • current updates to the FDA Food Code;
  • HACCP plan development and execution;
  • food safety regulations and standards; and
  • proper employee food safety training.

To become certified, a participant must pass the certification exam. A passing score is 75% or higher.

The certificate is valid for up to five years.
